Saqakhaneh

Saqakhanehs are small settings in public places, built by shopkeepers or residents to provide water for thirsty passersby. To inform the passerby at night, candles were lit around saqakhaneh which later gave religious aspect to it. Every Friday night candles are lit by those who have vows which transforms  saqakhaneh to a holly space.

In my redesign of saqakhaneh, by using prefabricated building  method, I have tried to create a contemporary urban furniture.
